Four Ways to Support iThemba

  1. Learner Partnerships: A Learner Partner covers the shortfall for one child for the year. Our budgeted shortfall per child for 2024 is R27,490 (monthly shortfall per child R2291. Some companies have taken multiple  learner partnerships and other individuals are sharing one partnership. We communicate regularly with our partners and encourage visits. We love hosting work groups from companies who want to see the school in action and have a direct impact on the children’s lives.

  2. Give a Financial Donation: Give any amount as a once-off donation.

  3. Donate Time or Expertise: Time and expertise are always welcome - from volunteers reading to small groups, assisting teachers, helping with birthday celebrations, and aiding with property maintenance, or companies donating their skills or time to provide enrichment to the children or help with a specific project.

  4. Pray: Please pray for our children, their families, our staff, and for the financial needs of the school.

WE PROVIDE A HIGH QUALITY ECD EXPERIENCE TO DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN AT AFFORDABLE FEES, WITH MOST OF THE RUNNING COSTS PER CHILD BEING SPONSORED. SOME IMPORTANT NUMBERS TO CONSIDER:

  • 60 = number of children at iThemba School

  • 4 = number of meals children get each day at iThemba (2 full meals + 2 snacks)

  • R39,018 = annual cost per child

  • R4800 = annual fee paid by parents

  • R6513 = annual government subsidy per child

  • R27,974 = annual projected shortfall per child

  • R2 331 = monthly shortfall per child
