Our end of year is suddenly upon us and we look back with grateful hearts for all that has been achieved.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE FRIENDS OF ITHEMBA
We are extremely grateful to all the donors, sponsors, supporters and helpers that have kept iThemba School going this year. We would certainly not have achieved all the following without your generous support. You truly are friends of iThemba!
The Grades 3’s of Sun Valley Primary School visited our children for a shared picnic.
BUILDING OF THE HALL
During this year, St. Peter’s church has built a new hall at the school and it was finally completed in time for the children to perform their concert there. The children were restricted to the front garden for outdoor play during this time and they are now delighted to be back in their familiar territory. The children were also able to have their concert in the new hall.
MY SCHOOL PROGRAMME
We have been fortunate to be accepted for the Woolworths “My School Programme??? and we appreciate all those who have taken cards on our behalf. If you wish to help us in this way please go onto their website and register at www.myschool.co.za for iThemba School.
OUTING TO HIGGELDY PIGGELDYFARM
A great time was had by the children at the Higgeldy Piggeldy Farm at Imhoff on an outing in the third term. They fed the animals and were delighted to see a newborn kid.
END OF YEAR CONCERT
The children excelled themselves at their concert and they all played their parts with confidence as they told the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth. We hope they will take lasting memories with them of this special season.
FAREWELL TO OUR FIRST GRADE R CLASS
The first Grade R class is leaving us to go on to Primary school and they attended a farewell ceremony after the concert.
CHRISTMAS PARTY & MAGIC SHOW
The final event for this year was a Christmas Party where the children were given gifts by the St. Peter’s church and they were amazed at the magic show and a visit from Father Christmas. Some of them recognised him as our new assistant Chrishiance.
OUR STAFF AND CHILDREN OF 2014
GOODBYE TO OUR PRINCIPAL
We sadly bid farewell to Jean who is leaving us at the end of the year. She has put in so much hard work in getting the school functioning at such a high level and we wish her all God’s blessings for next year.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW PRINCIPAL for 2015 : JANET WEBB
It is a pleasure to welcome our new Principal, Janet Webb, to iThemba School. She has returned from overseas to take over from Jean next year. She has valuable experience and input to continue to grow iThemba in the future. We wish her many happy years here.
GOING FORWARD INTO 2015
Our next group of Grade R’s will be moving up from the Busy Bees class and in the first term we will be taking another 15 children to fill this class. In the second term we will introduce a third class of 3-4 year olds.
iThemba School has also finally been registered as a Non Profit Organisation (NPO).
